Monday was a crazy day for me. I woke up not feeling good. My head was killing me, but not yet reached migraine status. While I'm pregnant or nursing I can only take Tylenol and caffeine to help my near migraine status headaches. For breakfast I had Tylenol and a caffeine drink (Sunkist, which I considered to be my morning orange juice under these circumstances). Abby was fussy most of the day which didn't help with headache relief.
Mark came home for lunch, as usual, and left only to return 5 minutes later saying his crown (tooth) fell out. Luckily our dentist was able to see him immediately. Mark came back an hour later not a happy person. We come to find out they can't put another crown in, but have to put an implant in which costs as much as my first car! and to make things worse our dental insurance doesn't cover implants, Holy Cow!! The headache went from really bad to migraine explosion in 30 minutes. Both kids were asleep so we just sat there in complete shock. Mark ended up going back to work, I ended up taking more Tylenol and caffeine.
By 6 pm I was ready to die, I was on the verge of vomiting and even opening my eyes was painful, to say the least it is hard to be a good mother under those circumstances. Mark got home about 6:45 and told me that a tenant of ours wasn't going to do what was agreed upon between us and her. I wasn't happy about that. My adrenaline was raising. I went to bed while Mark took the kids on an errand trip.
Mark got back and we continued to have tenant issues. My adrenaline was really racing. Now the blessings starting showing themselves. My headache eased up (my migraines have never eased up so quickly). I consider it a miracle. Our tenant issues eased up too. In regards to the implant, on Tuesday I spent all morning looking up information on dental insurance through the military and Mark was able to get double coverage, through his work and the military. The good thing with that is that the military's dental program will cover 50% of the implant up to $1,200, so we will only have to pay a couple thousand. As for Abby, we haven't been called off the waiting list, but we are only 11 days from her scheduled appt time and we are still all alive!
Yes, there are blessings amidst the trials, I have experienced them this week.

Celine Dion, Oh how I love thee!
Yesterday was date night for my Ry Bear and me. It wasn't really planned, but it was fun anyways! We had put Abby to bed, Mark was watching a show on his laptop, and I was thumbing through the shows on TV when suddenly I saw Celine Dion 'A New Day Has Come' concert on KBYU. Immediately I tuned in. Oh how I love her!! Ry came over and he watched about 10 minutes cuddled up on the couch with me. It was heavenly. To say the least my date night with Ry was a blast, after cuddling on the couch he got a ball and we played catch for the next hour, until her concert ended.

Yes, I'm a huge fan! I've seen her twice in my life. Once when I went to Denver CO to see her, I was still in high school and the other time was for our honeymoon in Las Vegas. That was an awesome show! She had a concert scheduled this past year for SLC, I had tickets on the 9Th row, but she had to change the day b/c of a sickness. OF COARSE, my luck would have it that she rescheduled for a Sunday! To say the least I bawled my eyes out for days! That was a hard decision for me to make.......Celine Dion.....Keep the Sabbath Day holy ........ Celine Dion...... Well the Lord beat out and I sold the tickets back to Celine. I'm not perfect, but I try to do my best. My heart still misses her. She is currently pregnant with twins and is scheduled for a second round of shows in Vegas in a few years. Yes, I will be going...... as long as Mark will take me. If he wont, anyone else want to come with me?
This past week has been exhausting. Abby hasn't been sleeping well at all, things are getting worse. During the night she wakes up on an average, every 2 hours. Many times it's every hour. There is no way to calm her little soul until I feed her. I called the GI doc again and asked where we were on the waiting list. Needless to say after 5 minutes of discussion with the receptionist I still have NO idea where Abby is at on the waiting list, she wouldn't tell me. She just said she would talk to the doc about her and put another star by her name. I hope she wasn't just saying all this to appease me. Sometimes....OK, a lot, I feel like that pushy mother who tries to get everything 'now' for her children, and I hate that I feel this way, but I also feel like I have to be pushy or my children won't get the care they need to get.
I have also learned in life to never tell yourself you will never act like that/ or that your children will never act like that in public. Let me explain, I went to Walgreens earlier this week and took the kids with me, as they are attached to my hip. I quickly picked up the one item I needed and headed for the checkout line. Ry saw balls and went running for them, he could have cared less where I was and that I was about to leave the store. After checking out, I went back to get him. He happily told me he was playing with 'his' toys. I politely told him it was time to go and we weren't buying a toy today. That is when the throw down started. He ran to go look at other toys, he wasn't leaving the store on his own terms, so he was going to have to do it on mine! With Abby in the car seat in one hand I picked up Ry with the other. He started kicking and screaming like I was stealing him. This fit led me to have to hold him football style around the waist. I walked, red faced from embarrassment, from the back of the store to the front with stares like you wouldn't believe. One lady actually stopped in her tracks and just stared at us and the scene we were making. I'm sure we were quite the site to see! To say the least Ry ended up sitting in his car seat for the next 10 minutes while Abby and I sat on the curb outside the car enjoying the nice day.
On a happy note, Ry is usually a very happy-go-lucky kind of a kid. Today our tenants (a couple of single girls) invited us into their part of the home to show us how they remodeled their living room, it looked awesome too! They love Ry, and he loves them. Today they gave him candy, bubbles, and a shinny new toy vacuum. He has ALWAYS wanted a vacuum for himself, and today he got it...... it's just too bad it is pink and purple. Not important to him thought, he still loves his vacuum and had to vacuum the whole house before naps.

Memorial Day Weekend
This past Monday was Memorial Day, in the past I have always treated it as a 'day off' filled with yard work, house work, and BBQs. To my recollection I've never visited a grave site on memorial day, this weekend was different.
My father-in-law passed away earlier this year. We live on the same block as the cemetery where he is buried. We visited him everyday Friday-Monday. My son Ry LOVES visiting grandpa! Every time we pass the entrance, he asks to go see him, most of the time we go in for a visit. He knows where he is at, as he says, "Grandpa is with Jesus." Yes he is.
The cemetery was beautiful. It was filled with different colored flowers left on graves by loved ones. Looking out from his graveside there is an open field, the field was filled with (give or take) 200 American flags blowing in the wind. It was breathtaking. Chuck/Dad/Grandpa, was an amazing person, so humble yet strong. He was so kind to me, he always asked me how Mark was treating me. Of coarse, the answer was always great, then he would get a smile on his face and nod his head in approvement.
The rest of the week has been pretty same ole' same ole'. Every time I hear my phone ring, I rush to see if it is Abby's GI doctor calling to let me know they have an appointment time that has opened up. This has yet to happen. She is on the waiting list to get in early. This doctor is amazing, she helped heal Ry's stomach troubles, but man is she hard to get into at first. We are talking months of waiting. Mark and I have joked that with the next baby as soon as we get the little one home we will call her and make an appointment just so we can get it!! It's a joke, but I really just may do it!
Mark's brother and his family were headed home to UT from CA and their car broke down. Mark and his other brother went to go pick them up in Vegas, but of coarse both our kids are sick. Ry has had a temp of 102 and Abby has a small fever, but is fussy. Both kids didn't sleep well at all, but besides that I'm grateful Mark was able to help out his brother.
Kids will say the darnedest things........We gave Ry Tylenol to help with the fever and the second time I gave it to him he giggles and says really excitedly...."I like this medicine, it makes me happy." I noticed he was sick when after his nap he just layed on the floor for 30 min without moving, that is not Ry at all! After the Tylenol kicks in he is running around 'happily' on his way. I can tell when it is wearing off because he is back on the floor not moving much. As a mother I am grateful for medicine, it would be tough to handle sick kids without it.
